Image for the "Symphonies in Fur Minor" portfolio of 2007. My first time making a piece specifically for a portfolio.

I think it came out alright. The knotwork is actually done in silver ink, but I think it came across well in the scan. The piece is based off of the song "Nottamun Town" by Tempest. Of which one of the lines:
Came a stark naked drummer beating the drum.
With his hands on his bosom came a-marching along.

This image stuck in my mind from the moment I heard the line.

I love it! I'm surprised no one else has commented. I really love the detail in the knotwork and the color blend of the background.

The expression of the drummer makes me happy. It looks as if he's really drifting in trance with the rhythm and beat of his drumming.
